Badminton Competition | Event Details

Date:9 May to 25 July 2027
Time:
  • 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Saturdays)
  • 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Sundays)
Venue:
  • Kowloon Bay Sports Centre (Address: 15 Kai Lok Street, Kowloon Bay)
  • Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre (Address: 176 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Chung, New Territories)
  • Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre (Address: 5-7/F, Tai Kok Tsui Municipal Services Building, 63 Fuk Tsun Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon)
  • Tung Cheong Street Sports Centre (Address: G/F and 3/F, Tai Po Tung Cheong Street Leisure Building)
  • Wai Tsuen Sports Centre (Address: 6 Miu Kong Street, Tsuen Wan)
Eligibility:
  • A participant shall be aged 15 or above.
  • A participant shall meet the following “continuous contract” requirements before the deadline for submission of “Particulars of Participants” for the competition:
    1. the participant has been employed continuously by the participating organisation for 4 weeks or more, and has worked for at least 17 hours per week; or
    2. the participant has been employed continuously by the participating organisation for 4 weeks or more, and has worked for 68 hours or more in a 4-week period comprising that week and the 3 weeks next preceding that week .
  • A participant is employed by the same organisation throughout the competition period.
  • A participant shall represent only 1 organisation throughout the Games.
Enrolment Method
  • All participating organisations must register as users of the SmartPLAY system  (SmartPLAY) and provide the information required for enrolment during registration, such as the certificate of incorporation, contact person’s details and declaration by the participating organisation, before they can enrol in the competition.
  • Participating organisations must submit the e-application forms for balloting through the SmartPLAY webpage between 15 December 2026 and 15 January 2027.
  • No waiting list will be drawn up for the ballot.  Participating organisations are required to make a fresh application for the remaining places, if any, after the ballot on a first come, first served basis during the open enrolment period.
  • Successful organisations are required to log in to their SmartPLAY accounts and, under the “My Activity” section, submit participants’ information (including gender and competition groups and events) and upload the signed “Declaration by Participants” between 24 January and 24 March 2027.
Enrolment Fee:$600 / each organisation
Inclement Weather Arrangement:In the event that a Pre-No. 8 special announcement (an advance notice to the public issued by the Hong Kong Observatory when the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is expected within 2 hours) is made, or when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, “extreme conditions” or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is still in force 2 hours before the reporting time for the preliminary round of the competition, all matches on that day will be cancelled.  The Organiser will notify participants of the corresponding arrangement in due course.
