Scoring Method for the Overall Championship

To encourage participation in the Corporate Games, an overall championship will be awarded to the organisation accumulating the highest points from all events for each group.  The scoring method is set out as follows:

  1. The champion and the first, second and third runners-up of each event in each group will score 7 points, 5 points, 3 points and 1 point respectively.  For competitions that comprise various individual events (such as badminton, table tennis and tennis, excluding athletics), the top 3 winning organisations will be determined by the sum of the points they score in all individual events (the champion and, the first, second and third runners-up will score 7 points, 5 points, 3 points and 1 point respectively). If 2 or more participating organisations score the same points, the one which holds more champions will win, and if they hold the same number of champions, the one holding more first runners-up will win.  The same method applies until the overall winning places are determined.  If all types of scores are the same, the participating organisations concerned will all be awarded championship of that particular group.
  2. For each event of the athletics competition, the 8 contestants entering the final, namely from the champion to the seventh runner-up will score 9 points, 7 points, 6 points, 5 points, 4 points, 3 points, 2 points and 1 point respectively (these points will only be used to calculate the overall score in the athletics competition but not the overall score in the Corporate Games).  The top 3 winning organisations in the athletics competition will be determined by the sum of the points they scored in all individual events.  If 2 or more participating organisations score the same highest points, the one which holds more champions will win; and if they hold the same number of champions, the one holding more first runners-up will win.  The same method applies until the overall winning places are determined.  If all types of scores are the same, the participating organisations concerned will all be awarded championship of that particular group.
  3. The organisation accumulating the highest points from all competitions will be awarded the overall championship of that particular group. If 2 or more participating organisations score the same highest points, the one which holds more champions will win; and if they hold the same number of champions, the one holding more first runners-up will win.  The same method applies until the overall winning places are determined.  If all types of scores are the same, the participating organisations concerned will all be awarded the overall championship of that particular group.
