Use of Sponsorship

All sponsorship in cash or in kind will be used on the publicity for and the competitions of the Corporate Games 2027, such as rental of venues, hiring of referees and part-time staff, venue set-up, sports equipment, and prizes, etc.

Notes

  1. 1. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will not accept sponsorship from tobacco and liquor companies.
  2. If there are more than one title sponsor for the same competition, the LCSD will take into account the amount of sponsorship, whether the products/services meet the needs of the event, the business nature, image and integrity of the sponsor in deciding on the sponsorship. Previous Corporate Games sponsors will be given priority.
  3. In the event that the interested parties are potential business competitors, the LCSD will inform all the parties concerned as early as possible and conduct negotiation, and reserve the final right to accept or reject any sponsorship.
  4. The order of acknowledgement depends on the level and amount of sponsorship. The amount of sponsorship will be calculated on the basis of the sponsorship in cash first and then the value in kind of products/services. If the amounts of sponsorship are the same, the order of acknowledgement will be determined by the alphabetical order of the first letter in the English name of the companies on the Business Register.
  5. Sponsorships in the form of products/services shall be provided in full. The LCSD will not consider sponsorship that provides products/services at a discounted price or cost price.
  6. The sponsored products/services should be valid for at least one year, calculated from the last competition date of the sponsored competition. For example, since the last competition date of basketball competition is on 31 October 2027, the sponsored products/services should be valid at least until 31 October 2028.
  7. All sponsorships are subject to the confirmation of acceptance by the LCSD before any arrangement for acknowledgement can be finalised and made. Hence, some of the forms of acknowledgement may not be available if they do not fit in with the rollout schedule of publicity materials or items.
  8. The contents of publicity signboards or banners provided by the sponsors at their own expense will be subject to the deliberation of the LCSD, and the LCSD has the right to revise the contents.
  9. The LCSD shall adjust the size of the publicity signboards or banners (suggested size: 3 feet x 8 feet) and designate the locations for their display according to the venue size, set-up and activity arrangements on site. If there are several publicity signboards or banners to be displayed at the same time, the LCSD will allocate their locations of display based on the criteria specified in item (4) above.
  10. The LCSD has full discretion to accept or reject any sponsorship.
  11. The sponsors shall not engage in, or be involved in, any act or activity that:
    • contravenes any National Security Laws;
    • constitutes or causes the occurrence of any offence endangering national security;
    • in the reasonable opinion of the LCSD, is likely to constitute or cause the occurrence of any offence endangering national security; or
    • in the reasonable opinion of the LCSD, is contrary to the interests of national security or the interest of the public of Hong Kong.
  12. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, and without prejudice to any other rights of the LCSD, the LCSD reserves the right to immediately cancel and/or terminate a sponsor’s participation in any sponsorship activities or forms of acknowledgements without compensation on any of the following grounds:
    • the sponsor is in breach of Clause 11 of the sponsorship details and acknowledgements arrangements; and
    • in the reasonable opinion of the LCSD, the sponsor’s participation in the sponsorship activity or form of acknowledgement is contrary to the interests of national security or the interest of the public of Hong Kong.
  13. For the purpose of Clauses 11 and 12 of the sponsorship details and acknowledgement arrangements:
    • “national security” has the meaning given to it under the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance (6 of 2024);
    • “National Security Laws” means all laws and legislation relating to the safeguarding of national security which are from time to time in force in or applicable to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, including the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as applied in Hong Kong under the Promulgation of National Law 2020 (L.N. 136 of 2020) and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance; and
